Be Limitless CIC has reached its crowdfunding target through the We Are Tamworth programme, raising £8,724 against a goal of £8,200. The funding will allow the community interest company to expand its inclusive theatre classes for children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

The classes provide free tuition in singing, dance, musical theatre and drama to young people with additional needs, disabilities or less privileged backgrounds. The project aims to bring children from different walks of life together, enhancing social skills, building confidence and offering performance opportunities.

Where the money came from

The £8,724 total comprised fundraising activities, donations from parents and supporters, and a £4,177 grant from Tamworth Borough Council's Community Recovery Fund. Notably, Pete Donovan, whose daughter attends Be Limitless classes, raised £1,300 through a 155-mile sponsored bike ride. Be Limitless student Amelia Eldred also donated £1,000 after selling a specialised trike she no longer needed.

What the funding will pay for

The money will cover room hire, a rehearsal residential, lighting and technical equipment, performance licences, show costumes and chaperone licences.

About We Are Tamworth

We Are Tamworth is delivered in partnership with Spacehive and enables charity and voluntary groups to turn ideas into action through a combination of donations from local people and council funding. Be Limitless is the latest group to reach its target under the programme. Since launching, 11 projects have been fully funded, including free football sessions for young people, radio broadcasting training, relationship education workshops, arts and wellbeing projects, a community choir and a new arts festival for the town.

Tamworth Borough Council was awarded £600,000 from the Government's Community Recovery Fund to strengthen communities, trust and pride. Of this, £165,000 was allocated to distribute through Spacehive. To date, We Are Tamworth has raised just under £90,000.

Amy Caddick, teacher at Be Limitless CIC, said: "From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who has donated, supported, organised an event, bought a ticket, shared a post or helped spread the word. This money will help us create even more opportunities for our students, giving them the chance to grow in confidence, develop their talents, make friendships and experience the joy of performing arts in an inclusive and supportive environment."
