Tamworth Borough Council is bringing back its annual Christmas Fun Run on Sunday 13 December at Tamworth Castle Grounds. The event welcomes participants of all ages to run, walk, skip or dance a 5km route around the grounds.
Everyone taking part will receive a Santa hat and a medal. The emphasis is on festive fun rather than speed or competition.
Which charities benefit?
This year's event supports two local charities: MIND and Heart of Tamworth.
MIND works to support better mental health and wellbeing, providing information, advice and support to people experiencing mental health problems, as well as campaigning for better mental health services and greater understanding.
Heart of Tamworth is a local charity working to support people in the Tamworth community, helping those facing challenges with practical support.
Event details and how to enter
The run starts at 11am on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Tamworth Castle Grounds. Tickets are on sale now at tamworthassemblyrooms.co.uk/bookings/webevent/XmasFunRun26

Councillor Lewis Smith, portfolio holder for people services, engagement, leisure and heritage, said: "The Christmas Fun Run is a great way to get into the festive spirit while getting active and having fun with family and friends. It's not about how quickly you complete the 5km, it's about coming together, enjoying the atmosphere and having some festive fun."
