Residents can now donate hygiene, cleaning and personal-care products at Marmion House to support Tamworth Hygiene Bank.

The collection point, previously available to council staff and councillors, has reopened to the public at the building’s front reception on Lichfield Street, B79 7BZ.

All donated products must be new and unused. The council says nappies can be donated from opened or partly used packs, provided the nappies themselves are unused.

Drop-off times

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 10am to 2pm.
  • Thursday: 2pm to 6pm.
  • National bank holidays: Closed.

The Hygiene Bank collects and distributes everyday essentials to local people who cannot afford them.

Councillor Lewis Smith said opening the collection point to the public would give more residents an opportunity to support that work.

Marie Ballard, volunteer project coordinator for Tamworth, said: “Having Marmion House as a public drop-off point means more people can get involved and help make a difference in their local community.”

Information about other collection points and accepted products is available through The Hygiene Bank. People needing support can contact Tamworth@thehygienebank.com.

Collection details were supplied by Tamworth Borough Council in its 29 October release.
