A degree apprentice at Greencore’s Tamworth distribution centre has joined the company’s centenary celebrations in Dublin.

Eva Biddle attended a dinner bringing together current and former colleagues, including people at the start of their careers, to mark 100 years of the food manufacturer.

Eva joined Greencore’s Early Careers programme in 2024 after studying Business Studies at sixth form. Her logistics apprenticeship has included experience in transport and warehousing, learning how those operations connect manufacturing sites with supermarket customers.

Alongside her role, she is studying Management and Leadership through a Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship at Nottingham Trent University.

Eva said: “In logistics, every single day is different, and every day brings new challenges. You have to take each day as it comes, but that’s what makes it so rewarding.”

She added that she hopes to build a long-term career with Greencore after completing the apprenticeship.

Cathy Hough, the company’s head of early careers, said its centenary was an opportunity to celebrate the people who had shaped the business while also looking ahead.

Greencore began as Irish Sugar in 1926. The company supplied this account and the accompanying photographs from its centenary event.
