Tamworth Borough Council is reminding residents to check their voter registration details before the deadline of Sunday 26 July 2026.
The council is carrying out its annual canvass and will send emails asking residents to confirm their electoral information online. Those who do not respond online will receive a paper form through the post.
Why check your details now?
Keeping the electoral register up to date ensures residents can take part in future elections. The council is particularly encouraging people who have recently moved house to verify their information, as research shows recent movers are less likely to be registered.
Younger people are also being urged to register. The Electoral Commission has found that registration rates are lower among younger age groups.

Residents who are not currently registered can sign up online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
