Thousands of residents attended the second annual Kaleidoscope of Dreams Festival at Tamworth Castle Grounds on Saturday, July 4. The free event was organised by Tamworth Borough Council in partnership with local schools.
Schoolchildren Perform Across Festival
Hundreds of schoolchildren from across the town performed songs, dances, cheerleading and live music. The festival theme centred on "Better Together". Landau Forte Academy QEMs also delivered performances during the day.
Activities included a Rainbow Fun Run with coloured powder paints, community games, face painting and balloon modelling.
Weeks of School Preparation
Local schools spent weeks preparing for the event. Children created posters, shields and bunting explaining why they believe communities are stronger when people work together.
Festival Concludes with Special Performance
The festivities concluded with a moving performance where all the schools sang four special songs. One was an original composition titled "Better Together" written by Flax Hill Junior Academy music teacher Charlotte Walters.
Funding and Community Goals
The festival is funded through a £600,000 government Community Recovery Fund grant. It forms part of the wider We Are Tamworth strategy, which aims to build more connected and included communities.
