Tamworth town centre will host a new antiques, collectors and flea market on Saturday 28 November, alongside its Christmas lights switch-on celebrations.
The market will take place in St Editha’s Square, Church Street, from 9am to 4pm, with free entry, according to the supplied event poster.
Council market provider Bescot Promotions is working with P&V Fairs to bring antiques, collectables and unusual finds to the square.
Ankerside Shopping Centre will also hold a Christmas market and toy fair from 9am to 6pm.
Christmas lights switch-on
The free Castle Grounds event starts at noon, with family entertainment, walkabout characters including the Grinch and Santa’s grotto. Local live performances begin at 2pm, before the lights are switched on at 6.30pm.
Councillor Lewis Smith, Tamworth Borough Council’s portfolio holder for people services, engagement, leisure and heritage, said: “The antiques, collectors and flea market will offer something a little different for visitors to enjoy, whether they’re looking for a unique gift, a special find or simply fancy having a browse.”
He said the combination of markets and festive entertainment would give visitors several reasons to spend the day in town and support local traders.
Further switch-on information is available at tamworth.gov.uk/christmas-lights. Event details and the market poster were supplied by Tamworth Borough Council on 5 November.
