Tamworth residents are being encouraged to support the town’s independent retailers on Small Business Saturday, 5 December 2026.
Tamworth Borough Council says at least 50 independent shops operate in the town centre, alongside the market and places to eat and drink.
The council is backing the national campaign and encouraging shoppers to explore businesses offering gifts, festive treats and everyday essentials.
Supporting independent shops
Council leader Carol Dean said: “Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to discover shops you might not have visited before, find something a little different for Christmas and show your support for the local businesses that help our town centre thrive.”
The council plans to highlight local shops on its social channels in the run-up to the event.
Tamworth Castle will also be open on Small Business Saturday, with its festive decorations on display. The Assembly Rooms has a programme of December entertainment.
December free-parking dates
Separately, the council has announced free parking in its own car parks on Saturday 12, Sunday 13, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December.
The offer applies only to Tamworth Borough Council car parks. The council’s car-parks webpage provides locations and further information.
