Warley Model Railway Club has marked its 60th anniversary with a two-day exhibition at Statfold Country Park near Tamworth.

The event took place on 10 and 11 October, bringing more than 30 model railway layouts together with demonstrations, societies and specialist traders, according to the club’s post-event report.

Displays were spread across four halls, while the park’s heritage trains offered visitors a full-size counterpart to the miniature railways.

The club said its Tech Zone demonstrations and opportunities to talk to modellers were among the attractions. A shuttle service connected the show with Tamworth.

Martin Wyatt’s layout, The Hampton Lovett Heritage Railway, received the Best in Show award. The supplied photograph shows the presentation at the exhibition.

Club representative Graham Allen said the anniversary weekend brought together different generations of railway enthusiasts and families.

This is the club’s report following the event, which Local Gazette previewed earlier this month.
