Tamworth Borough Council has successfully extended an antisocial behaviour injunction against a Coton Green resident following a court hearing in Nuneaton. The order against Amy Hughes of Bloomfield Way has been extended until June 2027, protecting neighbours from alleged verbal abuse and serious antisocial behaviour.
The injunction was first granted on an emergency basis in May after Tamworth's neighbourhood impact team received multiple complaints from residents in the area. The court's decision to extend the order sends a clear message that persistent antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated in Tamworth. Hughes has also been ordered to pay the council over £1,100 in legal costs.
Police now have powers to arrest immediately if any terms of the injunction are breached. This enforcement measure strengthens the council's ability to protect residents from further disruption. The extended order provides long-term protection for neighbours affected by the behaviour.
Chief Executive Stephen Gabriel said: "Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home and neighbourhood. When antisocial behaviour has a significant impact on residents' quality of life, we will not hesitate to take action." The council's decision demonstrates its commitment to addressing neighbourhood complaints seriously and protecting community wellbeing across Tamworth.
